Two Roll Mill For Rubber Compound

Two roll mill is mainly composed of roller, bearing, frame, gland, transmission device, distance adjusting device, lubricating device, roller temperature adjusting device, emergency stop device and braking device.

The working principle of the open mill is: Two relatively rotating rollers use different linear speeds to pull the rubber compound into the roll gap under the action of friction and adhesion force. When the compound passes through the wedge-shaped section between the two rollers, it is subjected to strong extrusion and shearing force, and under a certain temperature condition, the oxidative fracture of the rubber molecular chain occurs, increasing the plasticity of the rubber compound, and repeating for many times, so as to achieve rubber mixing purpose.

There are various structural forms of open mills, and the common structures are as follows:

1) Open drive mill. At present, open mills with specifications of φ360-560mm used in production usually adopt this transmission form. The main motor drives the drive gear and a pair of speed ratio gears to drive the front and rear rollers through the reducer, and the two rollers rotate relative to each other at different linear speeds.

2) Closed drive mill. The closed transmission mill is to concentrate all the transmission gears in a gear box. The front and rear rollers are driven by the main motor through the closed transmission reducer and the universal coupling. The roller bearings use double-row self-aligning rolling bearings. The distance adjustment method is electrical type.

3) Double motor drive mill. The double-motor drive mill is a special form of the closed driving mill. The power is driven by two motors to drive the two sets of reduction gears in the closed reducer. The reducer drives the front and rear rollers through the universal coupling. If it is driven by a speed-regulating motor, the linear speed and speed ratio of the front and rear rollers can be adjusted arbitrarily within a certain range, so as to meet the requirements of different production processes.

4) Hydraulic drive mill. The hydraulic drive mill uses a hydraulic motor as the power source. On both sides of the machine body, a set of hydraulic motors are installed at the ends of the front and rear rollers to drive each roller independently. The front speed and speed ratio of the front and rear rollers are determined by the hydraulic control system is used for adjustment, the roller bearing adopts self-aligning rolling bearing, and the roller distance adjustment usually adopts hydraulic distance adjustment.

5) Laboratory mill. The size of this kind of mill is small, and it is different from the open mill for industrial production in that it has more adjustment and recording instruments and other auxiliary devices. Usually, each roller is equipped with a set of variable speed transmission device to facilitate the adjustment of the rotation speed and speed ratio of the roller to meet various lab requirements.
